Welcome |
Welcome to
my personal web page. I have been volunteering since I was very young and enjoy working with children and on global issues. I participated in AmeriCorps NCCC in 2003/2004 where I did numerous volunteer projects in south eastern USA, which helped me to realize Human Services is where I needed to be. I then attended Skagit Valley College in Mount Vernon where I received my A.A. Degree June 2006. I transferred to Western Washington University, Bellingham to complete my Bachelors of Art degree in Human Services. I just recently got back from an internship in Kenya working with those effected by HIV/AIDS. The internship confirmed my goal of working with these people. I will graduate June 2008. This year I am interning at the American Red Cross and absolutely loving it. While doing this I am being trained in disaster relief which I hope to continue by obtaining my Masters degree in at Harvard, Tufts or UW. All amazing programs. I belong to Kiwanis Circle K International, which I am currently the Vice President of Service and also PNW District Global Service chair. I am in the process of planning our spring global service project in Jamaica, where we will work on building a cafeteria onto an orphanage. So join Circle K!! Additionally,
I am working at the local elementary school and fund raising for
Rabuor Village Project. If I don't attend graduate school this coming
year, I hope to either work a few years to strengthen my work experience
or join the Peace Corps and go back to my other home, Kenya
